June 11th, 2005 11:20 p.m.: (A poster with the nickname of GPTMB is a junior at Mountain Brook High School. He is the friend of Alana Jordan, who later brought her to this posting board. GPTMB writes the following to a poster called mbhs05,) ps mbhs - we cant give specifics of that night - the Twitty’s don't want us to.
June 11th, 2005 11:22 p.m.: (The poster, who called herself mbhs05 is a also friend and a neighbor, living on the same street, of Alana Jordan. Mbhs05 is a previous year graduate of Mountain Brook High School. Mbhs05 writes this,) GPTMB-Oh I know…I don’t know much anyway-I didn’t go on the trip…but I know the no specifics rule. Rumors don’t help anything anyway even if they DIDN’T ask not to…
Alana Jordan now joins and posts under the strange nickname of --- (three hyphens or dashes.) She later openly identifies herself as Alana Jordan in a series of postings and circumstances, not hiding that she was the one doing the TV interviews.
June 12th, 2005 12:55 a.m.: Hey… Look, I was there… the chaperones can’t be blamed, they went above and beyond for us. Please don’t blame them, it’s not their fault.
June 12th, 2005 1:07 a.m.: I know they didn't drop her off at any point in the night at the hotel… we were out by the pool the whole night…. we would have seen her.
June 12th, 2005 1:11 a.m.: They never dropped her off. I don’t know why they would lie and say something so easily proved false.
June 12th, 2005 1:14 a.m.: The pool is at the back, by the beach, you can’t see the street. and... our phones didn’t work in Aruba, so we couldn’t call her.
June 12th, 2005 1:17 a.m.: (To question, why did you and your friends let her get into a car with 3 guys by herself?) We didn’t let her, it just happened… please don’t blame or judge us, hind site is 20/20.
June 12th, 2005 1:19 a.m.: Yeah, they said that they dropped her off by the pool, which isn’t true. And her room was in the same place as mine. There were a bunch of us out there… they’re story doesn't check out.
June 12th, 2005 1:21 a.m.: I’m posting because a friend of mine has been on these boards…
June 12th, 2005 1:23 a.m.: haha… yeah GPTMB is the friend I was talking about. Be nice to him, he’s helped keep me from just totally losing it the past few days…. Thanks again, Darth Tater.
June 12th, 2005 1:29 a.m.: Maybe they could have sold her in Venezuela… We’re just trying to cling onto what hope we have left.
June 12th, 2005 1:32 a.m.: I really wish people would quit attacking Natalee’s character. She’s a good girl. She’s a smart girl… we cant change what happened, but you should know that it’s not her fault.
June 12th, 2005 1:40 a.m.: GPTMB Says: no Lindsay hart on MB’s trip — don't know who that is…
June 12th, 2005 1:41 a.m.: I have no idea who Lindsay Hart is? I dont think she even goes to our school. (later we find out she does)
June 12th, 2005 1:44 a.m.: Yeah, I met the kid, but like I told GPT, I thought everyone was sketchy that didn't go to MB, maybe that sounds bad, but it’s the truth.
June 12th, 2005 1:47 a.m.: I didn’t see her get into the car… I talked to her when we all left the club and asked if she was ok, and she said yeah. I thought she was going to leave with another group of Mountain Brook kids that were a few feet in front of us, b/c me and a couple others went to check another club to make sure no one got left. I guess she got in the car somewhere between walking with me and going up to the other group.
June 12th, 2005 1:56 a.m.: You have to understand, my friend is missing and I was one of the last people to talk to her… it’s more than a little bit difficult for me.
June 12th, 2005 2:00 a.m.: (talking about why she is posting) I was up because it’s been kind of hard to sleep, and I was talking to my friend who said that there were people who were helpful and nice on here…
June 12th, 2005 2:01 a.m.: She never ran away, I don’t know who this Lindsey person is, but she obviously doens’t know what she’s talking about.
June 12th, 2005 2:06 a.m.: I know for a fact that she didn't run away. She has never run away before either. She was very happy about going to Alabama, her biggest problem was deciding whether or not she wanted to do the Honors program there! She didn't run away.
June 12th, 2005 2:09 a.m.: Yeah… she’s a happy girl…. it’s really upsetting that people think she just ran away… she’s not like that, I’ve known her for a long time.
June 12th, 2005 2:10 a.m.: (someone had referred to Alana as a guy) I’m a girl.
June 12th, 2005 2:14 a.m.: None of that is true… Natalee has a lot going on for her… She wouldn’t run away.
June 12th, 2005 2:16 a.m.: Yes, I was there. It’s not a bad place… people went every night since we got there. I have pictures of me and my friends in the cut out in front of the place where you stick your face in the head of a shark and a sailor… it’s very tourist-y… a lot of us bought stuff from the gift shop.
June 12th, 2005 2:23 a.m.: It helps a lot to talk about it, because holding it ion makes me crazy. But when I trusted the media, I got misquoted and hurt even worse. Most of my friends don’t want to talk to me about it b/c they think i’m just gonna freak out and start crying (understandable, because I usually do!). I’ll talk to whoever I can get.
June 12th, 2005 2:25 a.m.: (Responding to comment that Joran might claim there was an accidental death and subsequent panic after rough sex or drug reaction or something like that) I’m so worried you’re right . Hopefully they will find out the truth. I hope these people are put to justice.
June 12th, 2005 2:31 a.m.: I’m worried about what I say about that night being misinterpreted… I was quoted in People recently and they twisted my words to make it seem like she was drunk and wild… She didn’t look like herself, but that was only because her eyes were heavy…. She didn’t have that much to drink, so she might have been drugged.
June 12th, 2005 2:34 a.m.: I frankly could care less about Aruba’s future tourism right now…. none of us blame Aruba, but I think people are so freaked out about tourism that they’re losing focus on the real issue… Nat’s safe return
June 12th, 2005 2:36 a.m.: I didn’t think that it was a bad place… I was only approached about drugs on the beach outside the hotel, never in the club.
June 12th, 2005 2:39 a.m.: It wouldn't surprise me if they did drug her… they would have had ample opportunity… we got free food and drinks at the hotel, so very few of us had anything at the club and Nat didn’t even bring a lot of money, so if she had anything at the club, that kid probably bought it for her, giving him the op. to slip something in it.
June 12th, 2005 2:45 a.m.: No she wasn’t just “overtired” We all slept quite a lot on the trip actually, plus I’ve seen Nat when she’s just sleepy… she doesnt look like she did that night. Thank you for your concern, though.
June 12th, 2005 2:45 a.m.: (someone posts this info from a google search and then a question) 15 Hart, Lindsey L Mtn Brook HS-SE 25.89 Some athletic stats on a Lindsey Hart from Mountain Brook Still don’t know of her?
June 12th, 2005 2:52 a.m.: A poster called MazRad says this to Alana Jordan, ---. I was told she (Hart) was a senior……do you happen to know any Lindsey that was friends with Nat? I had a girl named Lindsey tell me she was friends with her…..
June 12th, 2005 2:52 am: (someone else posted) I just googled “Lindsay Hart” and “Mountain Brook”, and found swimteam stats on her that give her as a 1986 birth year. So wouldn’t that make her a senior?
June 12th, 2005 2:52 a.m.: Oh hey.. whoever talked to Lindsey… I just looked her up in the yearbook and she is a senior… I’ve seen her before (she’s on the swim team with a couple of my friends) but I never knew her name. Whoops!
June 12th, 2005 2:55 a.m.: I don't think she was, but maybe… now that I know who she is, I still don't remember seeing her there. I have a list of everyone who went on the trip and I can check it if you want?
June 12th, 2005 2:58 a.m.: hahaha! Yeah, I guess I don’t even know my own!!! To MazRad, no I don’t know any Lindseys who are friends with Nat, It wouldn’t surprise me if Lindsey Hart knew Nat because we all hang out with the same people, but I don’t really know. (I feel bad that I didn't know who she was!)
June 12th, 2005 3:01 a.m.: I never said I knew everyone in my school… I said I didn't know many people from the J-High (except those who were in the Spring Musical with me.) My town is small, but I definitely don’t know everyone in it! I’m glad you were so popular that you knew everyone, but I cant claim the same! Sorry!
June 12th, 2005 3:02 a.m.: A poster writes, Lindsey Lee Hart is the only Lindsey listed in that graduating class
June 12th, 2005 3:03 a.m.: (Alana, talking about Natalee and Joran) She met him in our hotel’s casino a few days before that night… she knew him for a while
June 12th, 2005 3:04 a.m.: hey one sec. I’m gonna go try to find that sheet… brb
June 12th, 2005 3:07 a.m.: hey… all my trip stuff was in my dad’s office, but now all I can find is the flight info… if you want I can ask him tomorrow when he gets up and tell you for sure if she was on the trip? There were kind of a lot of us, and I really only hung out with my friends…
June 12th, 2005 3:13 a.m.: Yeah, I was in the first group, and Nat was supposed to be in the second, so ours was less dramatic… We honestly just thought that she had overslept or something, and didn’t really think it was a big deal. We were actually talking about how one of the chaperones who had lost a lot of sleep over us would probably be pissed b/c he would have to pay $75 to get a new ticket… we thought they would come back home a few hours later. When we landed in Atlanta though, the bus-ride was a little more hectic… We watched Dodge ball, though, and for the most part thought Nat was fine… but then near the end we started to get more worried. The next day we were all stressed because they still hadn’t found her and we feared something like this, but didn’t really believe it. It’s just gotten worse since then.
June 12th, 2005 3:15 a.m.: Lindsey would know Nat from school… why does it matter?
June 12th, 2005 3:17 a.m.: I didn't see her in the bathroom, and I was in there a couple times b/c girls have a tendency to go in groups… I cant really say that it was definitely not true, but I didn't see her in there. The only time I saw her was when we danced in the club and then after when we were walking back together.
June 12th, 2005 3:20 a.m.: Joran has a yacht
June 12th, 2005 3:23 a.m.: (To the question, "Was it a grey honda?") I don’t really know…. It might have been, but I didn’t see it. Granted, I was exactly on the look out for it either.
June 12th, 2005 3:27 a.m.: We all packed the day before, they asked us to at the meeting that afternoon, so that’s not unusual. We had to be up REALLY early and leave, so we all checked out the day before and packed up early. When I saw her, she looked… different. Her eyes were heavy, but she said she was fine. I guess I’m an idiot, but I believed her. I don’t want that to be misinterpreted though… People magazine put a slant to it, and I don’t want that to happen again.
June 12th, 2005 3:32 a.m.: Don’t read too much into other students not talking… we all are dealing with our greif in different ways…. I didn't say anything for a while… namely because before the first 4 days, I wouldn’t get out of bed, but lately I have to talk or I feel like I’ll explode. Trust me, there’s no big conspiracy on our side… people just don’t want to say anything that could be misinterpreted.
June 12th, 2005 12:48 p.m.: You may think that we’re all a a bunch of slutty, drunken idiots, but you’re wrong. Natalee isn’t like that, and you shouldn’t blame the chaperones for anything… THEY DID NOTHING WRONG!!!!
June 12th, 2005 12:55 p.m.: I’m really get sick of people who do nothing but blame and accuse. (As you probably are too!) I wish people who don’t know what they are talking about would quit attacking Nat, or us, or the chaperones. None of this can be blamed on us… they need to be blaming whoever did this to her.
June 12th, 2005 2:10 p.m.: Natalee didn’t run away… I wish people would just put this theory to bed. She wouldn’t do that… despite some false reports, she’s never done it before. She’s not the “run-away” type.
June 12th, 2005 2:22 p.m.: A poster with the nickname, Dallas Also, writes this to Alana, — MaxRad wanted you to email her last night. Please don’t do it. Please don’t do any private messaging or emailing with anyone except your true friends. MazRad wanted to ask you questions though, because your swim friend had posted this on the chat board “she changed her hair color to black. she cut her hair short. She’s probably still by the rock formations near the sea (by the big industrial area). She’s runaway before on a trip to Costa Rica. none of her friends wanted to say anything. Please visit with your swim friend about this. And get this cleared up, just between you and her, ok?
June 12th, 2005 2:29 p.m.: Huh? that person is NOT my friend… in fact, it’s doubtful that this person even knows Natalee. None of what this person is alleging is true.
June 12th, 2005 2:34 p.m.: My only friend on this board is GPTMB. I don’t know what you’re talking about.
June 12th, 2005 2:46 p.m.: I didn’t know that Lindsey had said any of that. Are you sure that was her?
June 12th, 2005 at 2:51 p.m.: A poster called Psychic Detective writes this to Alana, "That MazRad was posting cryptic messages claiming someone named Lindsey said those things. However, we don’t know if it was
A) legit or
B) the same Lindsey you know.
BTW, you cares if some freaks on a message board don’t believe who you are. You have nothing to prove."
June 12th, 2005 2:51 p.m.: I don't think anyone who knows Nat would say that. It’s totally unfounded. I’m not friends with that Lindsey girl, so I can’t really comment on her character, but I know that anyone who knows Nat wouldn’t say stuff like that.
June 12th, 2005 2:58 p.m.: I don’t know why people would try to attack Natalee’s character. She’s an awesome person. I wish you all could have known her before, that way you would kind of understand. She’s too smart and too good to be blamed for some of the things people are accusing her of. It’s simply not true.
June 12th, 2005 3:04 p.m.: It’s just some other people seem to be of the opinion that Natalee was a less than respectable girl… which is not true! I’m really talking about “Lindsey’s” accusations, even though I doubt she would even say those things.
June 12th, 2005 3:14 p.m.: I can’t even watch the news now because of the emotional roller coaster they put uas through. I just about lost it when they said she was killed… I was hysterical and drove home from PC in the rain because I had to get home to my friends. These false reports are not only hurtful, but dangerous. I hope that the news stations do try to be more respectful now.
June 12th, 2005 3:17 p.m.: They never dropped her off anywhere at the hotel. We were up all night, we would have seen her. They said they dropped her off by the pool where there were no cameras… however, what they didn’t realize (because they never actually dropped her off) is that we were all out there all night long. I guess they were counting on us going up to our rooms after the club like we had done the previous nights… if they had actually dropped her off like they claimed, they would know otherwise.
June 12th, 2005 3:21 p.m.: (Responding to the question, "What time did you leave the club?") It closed at about 1, 1:30 and we left around then. A couple of my friends and I went to another club for a minute to make sure that no one went there and were being left behind. When we all went to the hotel, we sat outside at the pool for the rest of the night until REALLY late.
June 12th, 2005 3:24 p.m.: Like I said before, when I met him, I thought he was kinda sketchy, but then again, I thought everyone who wasn’t from MB was sketchy.
June 12th, 2005 3:27 p.m.: Yeah, someone I know (I won’t post names) got in an argument with him before. I didn’t bother getting involved with it because it didn’t concern me. I don’t really like to meddle in other people’s business. I don’t know what it was about, but I know it wasn’t like an actual fist fight… just a lot of yelling, maybe some pushing, but not a lot.
June 12th, 2005 3:30 p.m.: He was playing in the casino in our hotel a few nights before. I guess Natalee liked him well enough to hang out with him over the next few days…
June 12th, 2005 3:46 p.m.: she didn’t know he couldn't drive.. he lied to all of us about his age
June 12th, 2005 4:10 p.m.: I never said that we “party all the time” everything I’ve said has been logged… you find where I said that.
June 12th, 2005 7:26 p.m.: I never saw her get into the car, so I couldn’t say. I just talked to her apparently right before she got in the car… I thought she was going to get in the taxi with other MB kids.
June 13th, 2005 12:14 a.m.: I want to beat the crap out of the kid, to be quite honest…
June 13th, 2005 12:24 a.m.: Yeah, She and I have been friends for a while and I was on the trip with her.
June 13th, 2005 12:27 a.m.: No one has asked us not to talk… in fact, all interviews I’ve been asked to do have been approved… most I just chose not to b/c it gets a little difficult with people interrogating you, even if they don’t mean to.
June 13th, 2005 12:30 a.m.: I'm pretty sure the FBI knows way more than can be found on this board…. At least I would hope so!
June 13th, 2005 12:25 a.m.: GPTMB Says (talking about Natalee): — (Alana) knows her better than I do. But yeah, we both know her and we both “run in the same circles” if you will.
June 13th, 2005 12:32 a.m.: I know for a fact they never dropped her off at the hotel. They are so obviously lying, it almost makes me ill.
June 13th, 2005 12:36 a.m.: All the PM seems to say is “ohhhh come to Aruba… we are such a good country! We have no crime!” he doesn't seem to care one way or the other about Nat… people are only looking out for themselves… granted that’s human nature, but i think in this case, it’s inexcusable. But I guess I’m a little biased…
June 13th, 2005 12:39 a.m.: I saw the pictures of the girl in the store… It’s definitely not Nat.
June 13th, 2005 12:44 a.m.: I know about what happened that night up to when she left… I didn't exactly go with her, so I don’t know what happened after they drove off. That’s what I want to know. I want her to come home and I want whoever took her to be punished…harshly.
June 13th, 2005 12:48 a.m.: The boys’ official statement claimed that they dropped her off by the pool. This isn't true… I was by the pool the whole night… no Natalee.
June 13th, 2005 12:51 a.m.: Well, everyone know about the Soul Beach Fest…. It was kind of a big event.
June 13th, 2005 12:59 a.m.: We didn't do anything wrong. Natalee is way too good a person to do 1/2 of the ridiculous things she’s been accused of.
June 13th, 2005 1:07 a.m.: I’m very much still a kid! haha. Seriously, this whole experience has made me feel anything but grown up! Besides, GPT isn’t 18 for another month! haha! (ok, I just turned 18 like a week befor ethe trip, but whatever… you know I gotta mess with ya GT!)
June 13th, 2005 1:09 a.m.: GPTMB Says: My dad’s a lawyer. He coaches me on what to say when I try to talk myself out of a speeding ticket - you bet Dutch-Boy’s dad is coaching him!
June 13th, 2005 1:13 a.m.: It’s at the church, and no I haven't yet.
June 13th, 2005 1:23 a.m.: to send stuff. I’ll be happy to take it by the church for you. Thank you so much! That’s so nice of you! I know it will mean a lot to her family. to see that people are willing to send their love from all over.
June 13th, 2005 1:24 a.m.: We’ll sign for you if you want… just write what you want to say and we’ll write it up there.
June 13th, 2005 1:45 a.m.: Yeah, the trip was for graduating seniors.
June 13th, 2005 1:52 a.m.: My favorite name from him came from my friend Chris… He couldn't even pronounce the kid’s name so now he just calls him “Dutch-Bag”
June 13th, 2005 2:00 a.m.: haha. I guess I can’t blame him, then. I’m a little biased Troy State? That’s awesome! My mom’s cousin is the coach down there… good school!
June 13th, 2005 2:03 a.m.: I might just be naive and overly-optimistic, but I really think there’s a good chance that Natalee can still come home safely… I just don’t see how anyone could know her for more than 5 minutes and still be able to kill her. That girl is amazing.
June 13th, 2005 2:10 a.m.: I have a little secret to share… I’m a Bama fan, but I’m gonna go to AU!!!! Shhh! Don’t tell! My friends already threaten to beat me up when I say Roll Tide!!! haha
June 13th, 2005 2:31 a.m.: At this point we’re all delirious from lack of sleep. Not much to do except wait and pray…
June 13th, 2005 2:38 p.m.: (Responding to the question, "Was Beth a chaperone?") No, she wasn't a chaperone… no parents were.
June 13th, 2005 2:42 p.m.: I went to the prayer vigil today, but the wall is filled up, so they are making 3 new panels for it that will be done this afternoon. I’ll probably go back at about 5 or 6. (I’m going to the prayer vigils everyday at noon, too, so you can send stuff whenever).
June 13th, 2005 2:44 p.m.: Nat had two roommates…. I don’t think anyone thought she was “missing” they just thought she was with someone else… there were a lot of us scattered all over the hotel. We knew something was up though when she wasn't in her room for checks the next morning, we just didn't know how severe.
June 13th, 2005 2:45 p.m.: Oh hey, the FBI just called and I have to go down for an interview… I guess I’ll talk to ya'll later.
Jun 13, 2005 9:04 p.m.: I'm doing alright. Went to the church today... it was pretty helpful. (had to talk to the FBI too... it was a really surreal experience!) I'm really thinking these boys are going to get tangled up in their own lies... hope they crack soon... I want Nat to hurry and come home.
Jun 13, 2005 7:07 p.m.: (What does Alana think happened?) I really have no idea... I just hope she's ok and not hurt. I think we all have trouble imagining what could have happened because we don't even want to consider the possibility that she might not be able to come home safely to us.
Jun 13, 2005 7:14 p.m.: We actually thought she was fine and had just overslept or something when our group got on the plane, it wasn't until the second group had their flight that we really started to worry
Jun 13, 2005 7:18 p.m.: Yeah, she had two roommates.
Jun 13, 2005 7:37 p.m.: If these kids get off, I'll have a dadgum heart-attack.
Jun 13, 2005 7:48 p.m.: I'm glad they are tripping up in their stories... they're all lying. I just wish they would grow a pair and fess up.
Jun 13, 2005 8:00 p.m.: I seriously doubt "accidental death."
Jun 13, 2005 8:05 p.m.: The chaperones knew she wasn't there at 8a.m.:, that's when they cam:e by and checked on all of us and woke us up. We didn't really think anything of it though... We didn't realize that it was an issue until after we got home, or almost home anyway.
Jun 13, 2005 8:06 p.m.: Don't think no one was looking out for her! That's not the case at all!
Jun 13, 2005 8:11 p.m.: No, we just thought she might have overslept... We didn't think she was that little punk at all! She's not usually late, but we thought she must have just crashed somewhere, if not in her room, then in one of her other friend's rooms.
Jun 13, 2005 8:16 p.m.: (Alana's response to the question, "Why didn't the roommates say something when she wasn't there in the morning?") They did... that's why Nat's mom flew down there so quickly and why a couple chaperones stayed behind. We honestly thought she was just somewhere in the hotel.
Jun 13, 2005 8:18 p.m.: (Referring to Anita van der Sloot) I think she knows her son is guilty of something.
Jun 13, 2005 8:19 p.m.: She had two roommates.
Jun 13, 2005 8:21 p.m.: Yeah, I think a lot of people were given the wrong impression. I think they just told us kids later, because they didn't want us to freak out and worry. The chaperones did a really good job. I was actually "missing" the day before and everyone just about had a heart attack, but then I was ok... I think they thought the same for Nat and just didn't want to worry anyone.
Jun 13, 2005 8:25 p.m.: Yeah, I've known her for a few years, but we weren't really close until this year. She's an amazing person... she's the reason I was able to pass Calculus! I can't wait till she gets home. I really think when she does, she should get help for whatever she's been through and then write a book. The girl's a serious genius.
Jun 13, 2005 8:27 p.m.: The chaperones were mainly teachers and teachers' wives. They actually were very mature and did their jobs remarkably well. They went above and beyond and did stuff that they didn't even have to to make sure that we were all ok.
Jun 13, 2005 8:36 pm: I just really want you to understand that the trip was well organized and there's no way the chaperones could have stopped what happened. We've done this trip for many years and never had any problems before either... this was just a freak situation. It's no one's fault, but the ones who took Nat.
Jun 13, 2005 8:43 p.m.: (Referring to Aruba) It's BEAUTIFUL there! A lot of parents have traveled there with family over the years and a few years ago they chose it for the senior trip and we've done it ever since. It really is a wonderful place and none of us blame the island for what happened. It's a horrible thing that happened, but seriously, I really hope Nat's ok and that Aruba doesn't have to suffer with us anymore. Other than the incident, we all really enjoyed it.
Jun 13, 2005 8:44 p.m.: (Referring to Joran) I never actually talked to the kid, just saw him around.
Jun 13, 2005 8:47 p.m.: I think we just stuck with Aruba because so many people had been there before and had nothing but good things to say about it. You really do have a wonderful island, and the people are great. You can't expect anywhere to be perfect, so people really shouldn't blame Aruba. (In fact, it was the closest to paradise I've ever been, that's why this whole thing was such a shock.)
Jun 13, 2005 8:50 p.m.: I think the only person who said he was strange was me! I was kind of sketched out by anyone who wasn't a MB kid though. To everyone else, he seemed pretty nice. I know he got in a fight with someone from my school, but not a real one, just yelling and a little pushing. I don't know what about though.
Jun 13, 2005 8:52 p.m.: Our cell phones didn't work in Aruba, that's why none of us took ours to the club.
Jun 13, 2005 8:58 p.m.: The FBI didn't say that I couldn't talk about it... I mean, all I know is what happened up until she got into the car... the question is what happened after that? No I'm back in AL now.
Jun 13, 2005 9:00 p.m.: No, she didn't have a cell phone or a purse... we just wore stuff with pockets to keep some money in. She had on flip-flops.
Jun 13, 2005 9:03 p.m.: (Talking about going out without a purse) Yeah, it seemed to make the most sense. All we needed was cover charge money and an ID. (there actually wasn't a cover charge that night, but there had been the previous nights, so we brought cab money and cover charge $)
Jun 13, 2005 9:04 p.m.: Yeah, I was the one who said her eyes looked heavy.
Jun 13, 2005 9:04 p.m.: Yes, she was wearing that outfit, that's why they keep showing it.
Jun 13, 2005 9:08 p.m.: I think that kid put something in her drink. I'm not sure though, that's not a confirmed fact, it's just my opinion. We all got free food and drinks at the hotel, so very few of us wanted to pay for drinks in the club. Nat didn't bring that much money either, so if she did drink in the club, he would have bought it for her, allowing him to be able to easily slip something in it.
Jun 13, 2005 9:10 p.m.: After I said that her eyes looked heavy, but other than that she seemed ok, I was told that GHP made your eyes look heavy and impaired your judgment, but you could still function ok for a while and still be able to talk and interact with people.
Jun 13, 2005 9:13 p.m.: She seemed ok... I don't really know very much about the effects of GHP, as I (luckily) haven't ever been given it. All I know is that it can turn your drink kinda bluish if you let it sit for a while. That is in no way relevent to the situation, but that's about all I know.... sorry!
Jun 13, 2005 9:17 p.m.: I think it takes a while before you pass out... I've seen pictures of people on it and they look practically dead. I hope that isn't what happened, but I don't know... No, she never said she was leaving with him. When I talked to her when we were all leaving, she acted as if she was going to meet up with some other MB people in front of us walking and go with them back to the hotel. I guess she got in the car in between talking to us and going to the other group of people.
Jun 13, 2005 9:21 p.m.: Some people have been e-mailing me their sentiments for me to write on the wall for them... If you want to, I would definitely do that for you. Other than that all we can really do is pray. If you want, you can also make a prayer bracelet. It doesn't really do anything, but we all wear them to remind us of Nat, and when people ask about them, we tell them about her and about praying for her safe return.
Jun 13, 2005 9:26 p.m.: You mean GPTMB? He's at home. He was actually supposed to call me earlier and never did... loser. haha
Jun 13, 2005 9:30 p.m.: To make a prayer bracelet all you do is get three different color pieces of yarn (it can be any color, I have a few of them and they all are different) and braid them together and then just tie them on your wrist. It's really simple, but it's not so much what it looks like as what it represents. I know People magazine has a picture of some of us wearing them... don't read the article though, they totally misquoted us and slanted the whole thing to make it more dramatic... They are idiots. Thank you for your interest though!
Jun 13, 2005 9:34 p.m.: I think Joran is a douche... but that's just me.
Jun 14, 2005 1:51 a.m.: No, Nat's not really big into meeting people online... she has more than enough friends already! I'm pretty sure she just met him when he was in our casino. I really think whoever said that made that up... Nat's not really the dating site type a girl.
Jun 14, 2005 1:52 a.m.: (about going to the wall) I was going to go again tonight, but I was worried I'd get up there and the new panels wouldn't be dry yet. I didn't want to fit the bill of a typical boring AL teen literally watching paint dry, so I decided to just put up what I was given today when I go for the vigil tomorrow at noon. So if ya'll want, you can still send stuff in.
Jun 14, 2005 2:15 a.m.: (Someone, quoted Dan from Rhielworldview who said, "The trip from Mountain Brook, Georgia to Aruba was not an official "school" trip, but an organized celebration for a group of mostly carefree and deservedly celebratory seniors from Mountain Brook High School, as well as some attendees from other surrounding schools. The last a fact that has gone mostly unreported.")
That's not true... only MB kids went on the trip...
Jun 14, 2005 2:20 a.m.: Yeah, going to the church helps a lot. Reading the wall is nice, even though sometimes a little heart wrenching. It makes me feel better now going when I can write stuff for other people, too. It's kinda like I can do something else besides just pray...
Jun 14, 2005 2:26 a.m.: The e-mails sent to that addy are compiled and put in a notebook at the church for us to look through. They don't actually go on the wall, but accomplish the same thing... right now we have about 900, I think. Not bad! Well, only a couple of my MB friends are going to UAB with me, but I know a lot of people there already. However, I'm going to transfer to AU the following year and almost all my friends are going there.
Jun 14, 2005 2:28 a.m.: I hate to say it, but I really don't think Dan knows what he's talking about. I have no idea why he would say that about non-brookies going on the trip, because everyone who went was a graduating senior from our school.... Weird.
Jun 14, 2005 2:31 a.m.: Yeah, it's super-close. I actually interned for the Psych dept. last year... I drove there after school. It's practically like another year of high school! haha. That's why I plan to transfer to AU... UAB is my transition time
Jun 14, 2005 2:34 a.m.: The cell phone thing is legit... Nat's uncle helped set up the phone to receive calls and dial out internationally... it just didn't happen until after she was missing, which is why she didn't bring it with her to the club. I was there when the chaperone called from Aruba... However, I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that it wasn't one chaperone who stayed behind, but one of the chaperones and his wife. I don't know why a female chaperone would be there by herself since all the teachers who went were male... the only females were the wives.
Jun 14, 2005 2:42 a.m.: Two of my best friends... they practically forced me to transfer to AU... I was looking towards Bama, but they wouldn't have it. My friend Chris even lent me a book on the history of Auburn football to get me amped... haha
Jun 14, 2005 2:47 a.m.: Yeah it was a royal pain not being able to use cell phones down there. For the most part we all stayed together though, so it wasn't really an issue until whatever happened to Natalee happened... then we really wished we had been able to use them. No, I don't know anything more than ya'll regarding recent stuff... that's why I'm waiting just as impatiently
Jun 14, 2005 2:51 a.m.: I don't think any of my theories would really be of any help... I won't let myself think that anything too bad might have happened to her because it scares the crap out of me! I just hope she's safe and able to come home soon.
Jun 14, 2005 2:57 a.m.: Yeah, I already did the whole feel so depressed that you don't get out of bed for 4 days thing... my friends got tire of that one fast and cam:e over and physically made me get up... Now everyday I make sure I get out of the house for at least an hour (even if it is just to go up to the church) and that has helped. I'm starting to become more like myself again, which is good. I'm still kind of in denial, but I think at this point it's gone from depressed denial and guilt to mild acceptance and just lots and lots and lots of hope.
Jun 14, 2005 3:01 a.m.: haha... see that's the good thing about being a southern kid... we don't need drugs... we've realized that football is way more of a high... not only more effective, but more addictive too!
Jun 14, 2005 3:07 a.m.: hahaha!!! I love how ya'll are using "Dutch Bag" now... I'm glad I'm not the only one who paid particular fondness to that one!
Jun 14, 2005 3:12 a.m.: Yeah, the services help a lot. I am pretty religious (more so lately, and understandably so) but the church has been so good to open its arms to all people, not just Christians. That really stuck out to me. We have a pretty large Jewish population in MB and it meant a lot that just because it's a church, it didn't overlook anyone just because they may not share the same beliefs.
I'm not going to preach to you, because that is in no way my place, but I will say that I hope you have faith in something, regardless of what it may be... I've found that it helps a lot. It seems that you do though, since you seem so grounded and able to be so supportive not only of your own loved ones, but of people like me that you haven't even met! Thank you so much, you're really a sweetie!
Jun 14, 2005 3:17 a.m.: I'm too big a wuss to start smoking... it gets all in my eyes and makes them water and makes me cough. I guess that's good for me, even though a far cry from cool! haha! Hang in there... I'm sure you can quit if you keep trying! I know what you mean though, my aunt's been diagnosed with cancer repeatedly, and still can't give the things up!
Jun 14, 2005 3:27 a.m.: One good thing about all this... others who have had similar things happen but were brushed aside now can get some attention. I'm hoping that's part of God's plan... I just also hope God's plan involves Natalee coming home safely! I think once all of this is over, I'd really like to help start an organization that promotes constant attention for missing persons cases... I never really knew how difficult it is to lose someone in the literal sense. I hope others can at least benefit from this whole trying ordeal.
Jun 14, 2005 3:31 a.m.: I have no idea what her flip flops were like... but unfortunately, I don't think it would help anyway... we all pretty much wear the same kind of stuff and many of us left flip flops down there. I also don't think she was able to wear a bra with that shirt, it was a tie-top. And I definitely would have no idea what undies she had on!
Jun 14, 2005 3:36 a.m.: I don't think I could ever even attempt to try to have my own show, but I do a lot of film making stuff, so maybe I could try to make an indie about the importance of keeping attention focused on missing persons. That would have to be WAYYY later on, though. I think we all need a little settling time after Nat gets back though. But it is a much bigger issue than I ever realized. At least people are starting to realize that.
Jun 14, 2005 3:41 a.m.: hahaha! Well who wouldn't watch the Dash show... I mean honestly! haha. I can sit behind a curtain with a voice changer... it'll be great! Just kidding
Jun 14, 2005 3:52 a.m.: (talking about Natalee's clothing in the beach picture) Yeah, that's what she was wearing that night... I really don't think the shoes thing would help at all... one of my friends realized today that she had picked up someone else's flip flops thinking they were hers b/c she had lost a pair, but now we think she might have accidentally stole them from the passed out guy at the pool who followed us back to the hotel! Whoops! Seriously though, we all lost so much stuff down there, any flip flops, even if they had the freaking' spartan crest on them could have belonged to anyone, not just Nat.
Jun 14, 2005 4:02 a.m.: Wow! It's 3am:! I gotta get up in 5 hours! I guess I'll talk to ya'll later, cuz if I don't at least try to get some sleep, it's likely I'll pull another all-nighter.... and those just aren't good for anyone! haha Night ya'll! God Bless!
Jun 14, 2005 9:15 p.m.: I watched The O'Reily Factor... my mom was supposed to go on, but she was glad that Jodi was able to instead... Jesse is a total sweetheart! I met him and wasn't exactly cold, but standoffish because I am a little skeptical of the press, but he really represented us well and everything we had talked to him about (even mentioning how I was irked with the media for misrepresenting me!)
Jun 14, 2005 9:16 p.m.: (a poster, puggywug, wrote, "I hope I am: not addressing an issue already covered, but I am: brand new to blogging/chatting. I found a very intriguing post on trip adviser posted by "Arbeej". It appeared as though "Arbeej" is the mother of one of the young ladies who was on the trip with Natalee. Is this true?)
That's my mom!!!
Jun 14, 2005 9:19 p.m.: (do you remember what Natalee's bathing suit looked like?) She had a couple different ones on the trip I think.... I never saw the underwear they said they found, so I can't really comment on whether or not I think they are hers.
Jun 14, 2005 9:23 p.m.: (Were there drugs regularly available on the trip? I mean I have been to Jamaica and Spring Break in Cancun, and it was crazy... were there drugs around?) They were, but no one really took interest. The chaperones made sure that the dealers left us alone for the most part.
Jun 14, 2005 9:27 p.m.:(puggywug wrote: "Dash (codename for Alana), I quoted your mom (copied and pasted one of her posts) to prove that no one said Natalee was drunk or that she intended to take a 'detour ride'." Haha! Well thank you! Yeah, I get so frustrated with people sometimes, but for the most part I try to just ignore it... I'll try to rationally explain why they are wrong sometimes, but only to the ones that I feel are truly just misinformed and aren't total you-know-whats!!! haha
Jun 14, 2005 9:33 p.m.: I think people tend to classify teenagers into what they see on MTV, but this trip was DEFINITELY NOT LIKE THAT!!! We did drink, but it was legal there, so I don't see any problem with it. I think the one thing most people don't realize is that Mountain Brook is tiny and people have big mouths... none of us wanted to do anything that would get us in deep with our parents, because there's no such thing as "what happens in Aruba, stays in Aruba" when it's Mtn. Brook people. I know I definitely didn't want to do anything to upset my parents! (And I'm not just saying that because I now know my mommy reads this site! haha)
Jun 14, 2005 9:36 p.m.: (about a website showing pictures of underwear found on the beach) Yeah, I saw that... that's interesting. I can't really say if those are hers or not... I was hoping they'd be a thong so I could say that they definitely were NOT hers... I'm surprised they didn't just ask her mom... she would know, she does her laundry!
Jun 14, 2005 10:17 p.m.: (Red wrote: Do we have any of our Mountain Brook AL teens on?)
Yup, I'm here... We're talking more about stuff happening in Aruba now, so I'm just reading, since I am: completely clueless. I hope they figure something out soon.
Jun 14, 2005 10:43 p.m.: (Responding to this question, "I read that Natalee rolled down the window and shouted as she drove off with the three guys. Are there any thoughts that, in hindsight, that she was shouting for help?") She wasn't shouting for help, I think she honestly thought they were taking her back to the hotel.
Jun 14, 2005 11:10 p.m.: (TTownMike wrote: Is that yo moma DasH?) who?
Jun 14, 2005 11:17 p.m.: (This was quoted.) Check this link out for a chat on trip adviser for more insight on the exit from C n' c's...I have no idea who the poster is, identifies herself as mother of a MB teen on trip.

"NATALEE WAS NOT THE GIRL WHO WAS SICK IN THE BATHROOM AT C&C's! My daughter had already told me she was puzzled by that story 'cause she neither saw nor heard anything of the kind regarding Natalee. We were at the vigil yesterday and they were discussing that... It turned out to be other girls on the trip. Somebody had mentioned that at church and these girls went, "Oh no! That was US!" It was definitely not Natalee. My daughter spoke with Natalee right after C&C's closed. My daughter & her friends came across Nat & Joran as all were exiting the club, and all were walking more or less together toward another group of classmates.
Natalee was walking unassisted (not falling down drunk), spoke ok (though not answering in long sentences), and was not touching Joran. My daughter only noticed that Joran was tall, dark-haired, American-looking; he did not speak and she couldn't read his facial expressions.
Nat turned down my daughter's invitation to go with her little group. (Ironically, they were about to circle the inside of another club to make sure no others were left behind.) Nat assured them that she was fine, and said she was going to go back to the hotel "with THEM," pointing to the MBHS group just a few yards ahead. The Kalpoes were nowhere in sight; neither was the car.
Next Alana heard was that Natalee got into a car that many in the group had thought was a taxi. (Those look like regular cars.)
It may be that the Kalpoes pulled up on the street before Natalee reached the next group; Joran may have deliberately stalled her. The group may not have even realized she was behind them, approaching. But while we hear that she got in the car willingly, we know from her comments that it was not her pre-planned intention. Because of this, I do not believe she knew she would be going anywhere but a fairly short distance down to the hotel. Her plans changed in the blink of an eye, and she was gone."
Yes, people who are on now can verify that it is indeed the mother of one of the students who was on the trip. The young lady (the writer's daughter) posts here in the evenings. Very interesting facts in that post, huh? I thought so, too! I pray someone finds Natalee alive ASAP. TTownMike wrote: Is that yo moma DasH? ")
Yup! That's her!
Jun 14, 2005 11:22 p.m. (Selena wrote: "that was not posted by me to start the rumor mill..was hoping for confirmation that an ' alana' was indeed on that trip... ") Danggit!!!! I was trying so hard to be a secret! My mom let it slip! haha. Well now you know... Dash's secret identity is Alana.
Jun 14, 2005 11:28 p.m.: (Selena wrote: "ALANA...you now have me in tears,..hugs to you sweetie")
Awww... thank you! It's ok! I'm sure she's going to be fine and come home soon. Don't cry!
Jun 14, 2005 11:31 p.m.: (talking about posters referring to her as Dash instead of the three dashes," ---," she posted as) haha. Thanks ya'll! Good, I'm glad! I'm kinda taking a liking to my new secret nickname.
Jun 14, 2005 11:33 p.m.: (nancy_drew wrote: "Dash, YOU'RE A GIRL!!!! Sheesh, all that football talk??? You fooled me kiddo! Just remember who gave you that dashing nam:e, Dash!")
haha! Sorry to trick you! I didn't mean to!!! In the south, we ALL love football, even us girls!
Jun 15, 2005 12:02 a.m.: (Responding to question, "Dash [codename for Alana], can you confirm where she was in the car when she yelled out to you and the others?") I didn't see her in the car... she must have got in right after she talked to me. I would assume if she yelled then she would have had to be in the backseat, because the car would have been on the right of the sidewalk.
Jun 15, 2005 12:16 a.m.:(about why she posts on the internet) If it didn't help, I wouldn't be here. Yall are really helpful. Your kindness means a lot. Thank you for your prayers!!!
Jun 15, 2005 12:23 a.m.: (responding to the question, "Did you go to the church today?) I was feeling really ill today, so I didn't get to go. I'm going tomorrow though.
Jun 15, 2005 9:43 a.m.: (about going to the church) Hey! No...I've been horse training and I didn't want to go stinking to high heaven...plus I have a fear of cameras. They're VULTURES! I had to tell them to go away, more than once, yesterday just to sign the wall for someone. It's RIDICULOUS!
Jun 15, 2005 1:35 p.m.: (about the media) No joke! They are scary! I think it's funny how the only people they can interview who's down there are people who don't go to MB and have never even met Nat. All of us are scared crapless of talking to them! haha.
Jun 15, 2005 1:38 p.m.: (someone posted that Joran's home was searched) Good! I wish they would have searched his home 2 weeks ago, but hey, at least it's something.
Jun 15, 2005 1:47 p.m.: I just think it's interesting how people are so quick to attack Nat's parents as being so horrible for letting their 18 year old go on this trip, but no one says anything about the fact that Joran's parents allow their 17 year old son to lie about his age, frequent casinos, and be out at all hours of the night on school-nights. I know my parents would have none of it if I wanted to go to a club until 2 a.m.: knowing I had school the next day!
Wed Jun 15, 2005 1:55 p.m.: I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy that a lot of the media has demonstrated at some point... I just wish that some people would acknowledge that our parents didn't do anything wrong! People are accusing our parents of just giving us money and sending us off with a "wink and a nod" when that's not the case at all. I saved up and paid for the trip myself. I worked my butt off to get a full scholarship so my parents won't have to pay for college. We work hard, study hard, and are good kids. We experienced a lot of tragedy this year and were really looking forward to this break. I wish people would think about what kind of effect their words have before they just agree that parents are irresponsible and students are not to be trusted.
Jun 15, 2005 2:11 p.m.: This trip was about relaxing, I don't think you realize that our school is known for housing some of the hardest working students in the country. I'm not going to go into my own extracurricular, but know they were pretty extensive... and I'm by far not the busiest person who went! We do volunteer, and a lot. I was actually an officer for the Habitat for Humanity club. I think your perceptions of us are completely inaccurate. We are good kids.
Jun 15, 2005 2:24 p.m.: We're not spoiled little brats. Yes, it is an annual event. I don't feel comfortable telling you about who markets it, but no I don't think they'll do it again.
Jun 15, 2005 2:33 p.m.: Haha...well I feel that needs to be cleared up NOW...I mean I really can't think of that many people that don't have a job of some sort... Seriously... besides, not a lot of us have very big houses... you've seen mine, you can attest... it ain't no mansion! haha. I have to pay for practically everything myself... I'm working 5 to 6 days a week for the rest of the summer!
Jun 15, 2005 2:37 p.m.: I think a lot of people don't realize that the majority of the people who went on the trip aren't drinkers... they drank some because it's legal there and we had free food and drinks... you take advantage of what's given to you.
Also, the drug allegations are just silly... we're all afraid of drug dealers! haha
Jun 15, 2005 2:41 p.m.: yeah...drug dealers in Mountain Brook? When we did the drug.
