We, Dennis Dominico Jacobs and Shaniro Baldrik Kelly, head agent and sergeant at the Korps Police Force Aruba, firstly called classified at the Atraco team last mentioned district 2, explain the following at the section to multi-prevention crime classified.

Interrogators: On Tuesday, 31 May 2005, around 15.30 interrogated and took a witness statement from the man named:
 
Deepak Sharma Kalpoe
 
Born in Surinam on October 06, 1983, of profession a clerk (Cyberzone Internet Cafe Seaport Marketplace) and residing in Hooiberg number xxxx on Aruba.
 
This statement was given in Papiamento and was translated by me, Jacobs, to Dutch, was put on record and sounds as follows:

Interrogators: Please describe the events of May 29, 2005.

Deepak Kalpoe: Last Sunday, around 22.45, my friend "Joran" called me on my mobile telephone number xxxxxxx . Joran has a mobile telephone with the number "xxxxxxx." Joran asked me if we would go out. He told me that he was at the Excelsior casino and that he had won third or fourth in the poker tournament. I told him that I would pick up him up later at home. On Monday, May 30 2005, around 00.00, I went to pick up Joran at his house. I went together with my brother named Satish Sharma Kalpoe to pick up Joran at his house. Satish and I remained approximately 15 minutes at Joran’s house. I must note that Joran lives in an apartment beside the dwelling where his parents live. Around 00.25, Satish, Joran and I left for "Carlos 'n Charlies." When we arrived there, all three of us walked into Carlos 'n Charlies. I must note that we arrived at Carlos 'n Charlies at around 00.40. When we walked inside, I saw approximately sixty people in the building. All three of us walked to the bar and Joran bought three glasses of "whiskey coke." After Joran paid for this, we walked around. We stood then near the dancing floor, or stage, for a while and I saw that several persons were dancing. I saw a white, blond haired girl dancing and when she saw Joran, she gestured with her hands to have Joran dance with her on the stage. Joran would not dance with the young lady and he continued to stand beside my brother and I. Joran told me that the girl was drunk. After the song was over, I saw the girl go to Joran and say to him in English, “Hi, how is it goin? Why didn't you dance with me?" (hello, how goes it? Why you did not dance with me; observation Jacobs). Joran started to laugh hard, but I could not hear what he answered her. After that, the girl tried to dance again with Joran, but he refused to. The girl walked over to three girls and two boys who stood nearby. These were friends of the blonde girl. Then, I turned to talk with a friend and when I turned back my brother and Joran were no longer there. I continued to walk around in Carlos 'n Charlies in search of my brother and Joran, but I could not find them. I knew for certain that my brother and Joran were not in Carlos 'n Charlies at that moment, because I had looked around the whole place. At that time it was 01.00 and everyone started leaving.
 
On Monday, May 30, 2005, around 01.05, I walked to my car to wait for Joran and my brother. Around 01.12 Satish and Joran came to my car. My brother sat beside me in the car and then in the mirror, I saw that Joran and the blonde girl, who had been dancing on the stage, sat in the back seat. I greeted the girl in English and she greeted me in English. The girl did not introduce herself. The girl then told me that I had a beautiful car and that she would like to drive around. Joran said to me that he also wanted to drive around. I drove two rounds with my car and saw that near Dunkin Donuts, a group of the Visibility Team stood. I drove after that past the Royal Plaza and I saw that a group of people stood there. When the girl saw the group, she put her head outside the window and called out something to them. She called a boy's name, but I no longer remember what name she called. The young person came over to my car and told her to get out of my car. I parked my car and I told the girl that she should go with her friends. She refused do this and she said my car was beautiful and wanted to drive around for a while. Joran asked if she was certain that she wanted to drive around with us and the girl answered him, "Yes." I told Joran that I didn’t think it was nice that the girl remained with us because she was drunk and I didn’t want any problems.
 
On the Sasakiweg (main road?) near the old Hooters building Joran and the girl started to kiss each other. I drove beyond the large hotels in a northern direction. When we were near the Malmok area, I saw that Joran started touching the breasts of the girl. I drove at the request of the girl in the direction of the Lighthouse, because the girl wanted to see it. After we drove up alongside the Lighthouse, I returned to the Sasakiweg (main road?). Joran told me that the girl had fallen asleep. I told Joran to wake her up and ask what hotel she was staying at. I heard that the girl tell Joran the Holiday Inn. I asked Joran if the girl said the Holiday Inn and Joran said, "Yes." I then drove in the direction of the Holiday Inn and parked my car at the second column at the hotel. (?) I heard the car door open and turned around to see who got out. I saw that the girl got out and fell on the ground. Joran also got out of the car and tried to help the girl stand up. Joran held the girl by her shoulders and started to walk in the direction of the lobby. The girl turned to Joran and pushed him away. Joran turned around and came back to my car. I saw that the girl was headed to the inside of the lobby, then I started to drive away. The last thing I saw was the girl walk up to a large dark man, who was wearing a black t-shirt and carried a “walkie talkie” in his hands. Joran told me also that the guard had taken over the girl and that we could drive away. Around 02.15 we had dropped Joran at his house then afterwards I drove with my brother to my house. We arrived at home around 02.30.

Interrogators: Can give you give a better description of the large dark man, who had walked up to the girl from the lobby?

Deepak: He is approximately 1.85 meters tall, has a heavy set body and close-cropped hair. He wore a black t-shirt and black cotton long trousers which most of the keepers use. He kept a walkie talkie in his hands and he spoke by means of the walkie talkie. If I see the guard again, I will recognize him.

Interrogators: Did Joran and the girl step away from your car at the Fisherman’s Huts and walk by the sea?

Deepak: No.

Interrogators: Does your brother have a mobile telephone?

Deepak: Yes, with the number "xxxxxxx".

Interrogators: Can you tell me what the girl wore? (With the girl it is meant the missing woman, called Natalee Ann Holloway; observation Jacobs)

Deepak: She wore a blue jeans skirt and she wore a pale blue blouse.

Interrogators: What did you wear?

Deepak: I wore a blue nail trousers and a red top.

Interrogators: Did you use a narcotic substances with the girl?

Deepak: No. I also have not seen the girl use narcotic substances.
