The Taping of Deepak Kalpoe in Aruba

The events of this chapter could very well be the most profound of this entire case. The taping of Deepak Kalpoe by Jamie Skeeters, the manipulation of that recording and the subsequent showing of that recording on the Dr. Phil show caused a media frenzy that was not favorable to the Kalpoes or Joran van der Sloot. Just the thought of Deepak supposedly admitting to the three having "sex with Natalee," would allow all of the news pundits to unleash a nightly attack over and over again. All the cable and non cable news shows would display that clip, seemingly to offer proof that they all not only raped Natalee but killed her.

Beth Twitty cries, gang rape & murder

It certainly was what Beth Twitty used night after night to continue on the airwaves, shouting her accusations, demanding justice all based on a lie. The story that might have died a slow natural death after the release of all three suspects in September of 05 was revitalized and got new life because of Dr. Phil and Jamie Skeeters. It was this story on the Dr. Phil show which would in earnest launch the Boycott of Aruba, which Dr. Phil would encourage on his nationwide show.

Who manipulated this recording?

Who initiated these actions? Who manipulated this recording? How far reaching did the deception go? Did Natalee's family knowingly participate in this deception from the onset or just become part of it later on? I have offered an outline I hope to follow in trying to uncover how these events effected this case. How the media played a strong roll in perpetrating the lie in regards to these different recordings. How a few good and decent people would prove they were manipulated at least to the on line world that followed this case. And since this chapter is still in the news with the lawsuit pending by the Kalpoes against Dr. Phil, I hope at some point to even have a conclusion to at least this part of the story.

The Dr. Phil Show

This chapter is very important to me and because of that I want to clearly define what I hope to be made the reader aware of.

• hope to provide a background on how Jamie Skeeters got involved in this case, and tell you a little about Jamie Skeeters.

• I will go into much detail on the Dr. Phil Show and all that it entailed, with video and transcripts of the show.

• I will show as many examples as I can find on all of the many programs, like Nancy Grace, that played the distorted version of that tape, over and over again, for weeks on television. Often I will have video to show exactly how the viewer saw it back in October and November of 2005.

• I hope to show how these manipulated tapes were used by Beth to continue for months crying gang rape and feeling justified because of these bogus tapes. It has always been a mystery though why Natalie's father Dave did not speak out regarding what these recordings actually said as he had the original copy.

• And then there is who I consider at least the "on line hero," in this case Roger of Scrux, (Sam Redman) who cared enough about the truth to spend hours and hours of his own time, clearly showing to those of us who followed the case, what the tapes really said. If it were not for Roger, we all would only have the word of the NFI in this manner, because no one else has taken the time to debunk the lies of Dr. Phil and Skeeters. I would imagine that at least on line, this would still be a hotly contested point of the case.

• I will discuss the Open Letter Project, another Scrux .com idea, in an attempt to try and get Oprah's attention regarding her friend Dr. Phil

• Eventually a Holloway family member would provide another tape, to those taking the lead in following this case on line. This tape would match the original tape that Roger had received from Aruban Law enforcement and would essentially prove that Natalee's family always should have known what specifically was said when Deepak and Skeeters met in that hotel room. And it was not what the nation heard on Dr. Phil.

• I will mention the recent Kalpoe lawsuits, of which one has already been tossed out, that being the one that Natalee's family filed against the Kalpoes. That lawsuit in California had about as much chance as the frivolous one filed against the Van der Sloots in New York.

• And of course there is still pending the lawsuit.The Kalpoes lawsuit have filed against Dr. Phil and Jamie Skeeters. However Jamie has actually passed away since the law suit was filed. and that is also a bizarre twist to this case. All latest news will be updated.
