Chapter: three Inside the Excelsior casino
The blackjack table where Joran and Natalee first met. Joran on the left in what appears to be a white shirt and Natalee on the right with another Mountain Brook girl in between them.
There are those that persist in thinking Paul van der Sloot was sitting at the black jack table, actually talking to Natalee. There are those that still believe that Paul met Natalee that evening and gave her a ride. Those people would be wrong. The man in the casino video at the blackjack table, sitting to the right of Natalee, is not Paul van der Sloot.
Paul left Joran much earlier that evening while Joran was still playing in the free poker tournament. Anita van der Sloot was in Holland that weekend and Paul needed to get home to take care of Joran's youngest brother.

Joran's statement regarding his father
| On Sunday, I do not remember the date any more, I went at approximately 16.00 hours, to the "Excelsior Casino" at the Holiday Inn Hotel to play "Texas Hold'm poker". (with this the suspect is talking about May 29th 2005). I went with my father named "Paul van der SLOOT" to the casino. I went to play "Texas Hold'm Poker" with my father. It is a poker game in which you get 7 cards, and you have to make a card combination with your best (5) cards. You get 500 U.S. $ of fake money and with this money you play. I was done sooner than my father, and I went and hung around in the casino. When it was half time of the game, my father wanted to go home to go and babysit my ten year old brother. At my father's request I sat in for him, and played "Texas Hold'm poker. I am not sure as to when half time was, but I think it was between 19.00 and 20.00 hours. I kept on gambling until I lost too. This was according to me until 21.30 to 22.00 hours. I went to walk around in the casino, and after that went to the "Blackjack" table to play blackjack. |
Not Paul at the blackjack table
The man at the blackjack table has been identified as a tourist, and Aruban Law Enforcement has never had any concern that the man in the casino video is Paul van der Sloot. Why is this fact not well known? In the interest of keeping this man out of such a high profile case, his identity has been kept only known to Aruban law enforcement. The bigger question might be why those that would know this fact, like Attorney John Q Kelly or Jossy Mansur in interviews still try to cast suspicion on Paul?

The above photos of the man to the right of Natalee show a man that is clearly not Paul van der Sloot. It is hoped by the release of these new photos that at least one of the on line continued debates on this topic can be once and for all put to rest. The reason law enforcement saw no need to ever announce this is because they never ever thought this was Paul because it certainly does not look anything like him.
