Three Suspects Rearrested in Natalee Holloway Case

ORANJESTAD, Aruba- Authorities in Aruba and in the Netherlands have rearrested three suspects in the Natalee Holloway Case. The prosecutor's office in Aruba says Joran van der Sloot was arrested in the Netherlands, brothers Satish and Deepak Kalpoe were arrested in Aruba. All three were arrested on suspicion of involvement in manslaughter and causing serious bodily harm resulting in Holloway's death.

The Aruban prosecutor tells NBC13 HD News that new evidence recently surfaced in Natalee's case demanded these three men be taken into custody immediately. Right now, we don't know what that new evidence is, but it was enough to convince a judge to sign an arrest order. All three suspects are now being held in solitary confinement cells.

In the coming days, Joran will be extradited back to Aruba where prosecutors interrogate him for 8 days before asking a judge for more time. The Kalpoe brothers can be held for two days. they're scheduled to appear in court Friday to determine whether there's enough evidence to keep them in jail any longer.

Natalee's family is full of nervous, hopeful questions.

"What do they have?" Natalee's father Dave Holloway wants to know. "Are they going to be released are they going to be held? It's a lot of anxiety. We'll just have to wait and see."

Dutch detectives took over Natalee's case from the Aruban police in 2006. Whatever the new evidence is - they'll confront the suspects with it during the upcoming interrogations - which will be on tape.

"We are under the impression here in Aruba that this is not about any physical evidence," according to Julie Renfro, the Editor in Chief of "Aruba Today." "This is about a new tip, a new lead that came in."

The Aruban prosecutor's office says the law requires them to ultimately decide on whether van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers will ever be charged in Natalee's case by the end of this year. Although the suspects have been arrested before, these are the strongest accusations Aruban prosecutors have made so far.

"We're hoping for answers hoping for resolution," says Dave Holloway. "You've just got to hang in there and have faith."
