Early thoughts of an Aruban poster

A devoted Aruban poster, MF had this to say about Peter de Vries

It was expected that the Vries would go this way in his program.

He has no official information about the investigation. No contact with the ALE, FBI, KLPD and Prosecutors; who definitely knows more about the case than the family, internet sites and tabloid filled with JM's inaccuracies.
He has only one side of the story.

He has no details of the interrogations and over the 2.000 pages of information that the ALE and prosecutors have, only 100+, which is the same documents we have on the internet that was given to the family by the lawyers that used these in the court sessions early on and they leaked on the internet.

They only have a small portion of over 14 months of investigation. They are going to play PR with less than 200 pages of documentation and they will have to rely on Beth's words of what happened before, during and after Natalee's disappearance.... you know, 'cause she know.

There are over 200 witnesses' statements, he might only have 10. Same used in the civil suit, yes, remember that fake story they wanted to tell in the NY court?

So, he will be making a program based on the documents given to him by the family, the same used to show the 500+ posters on different sites that the suspects are guilty of murder, rape, kidnapping and gang raping.... but still could not proof that even a crime was committed.

I just hope he shows one of the PV's on TV.

Daniel, another Dutch poster offered this

ALE has already had all or part of its information (which is much more than De Vries has) reviewed by several teams of its own, by Dutch specialists, by the FBI and by an officer from the Dutch Antilles if I recall correctly. And now, for a final review by KLPD. It's unlikely that any stones have been left unturned, and if there still should be any, they won't be in those few of the most incriminating records that De Vries has and that countless people have already been chewing on. If Joran should be guilty, and if that is De Vries' angle, then his only chance of breaking the case is if someone brings in new evidence or if someone close to the investigation has evidence of corruption. Both seem very unlikely to me. If he has fallen for Beth's rhetoric's, as so many have before him, I don't think he can do more than re-hash the same old stuff. If he wants to find new points of view, he should be looking in alternative directions, which have not been as actively pursued as the Joran-did-it angle. He's more likely to find new and neglected leads there.

Peter de Vries and the Van der Sloot family

By early November 2006, just a couple weeks after Peter announced he was pursuing this case, the Van der Sloot family issued this statement on line, via JR the Dutch Attorney at the Freedom of Blog site.

The Van der Sloot family has informed me that they, at this moment and probably never, have any trust in Peter de Vries. They have several reasons for this which I will not go in to.

They will not co-operate with him.

Any information that is sent to de Vries will not be backed up by the van der Sloot family unless it is within the scope of what FOB is working on, which will have the blessing of the VDS family and Joe Tacopina before it's sent to de Vries, or other media outlet's if de Vries is not the right one. The VDS family has no intention of communicating with anyone directly from the de Vries show

The Van der Sloots and Peter?

Why, some would say would the Van der Sloot's take this approach with Peter and refuse to cooperate with him? After all, if Joran has nothing to hide, then why not just sit down with Peter and tell all he knows?

No one of course can answer this question better than the Van der Sloots themselves, but several reasons come to mind, based on events that were happening at that time.

Needless to say they had had very bad experiences with the media in general since the first days of this ordeal and to them Peter was another big time media person, who it seemed was trying to latch on to this case for ratings and money. His approach with them had been through emails and not especially warm or friendly, but more in a pushy, taking for granted mode that seemed to suggest, that they would cooperate, no matter what.

It was really their strongest feeling at this time to let all media talk die away as Joran was settling into life at college in Holland and doing very well, especially in college. The Van der Sloots really did not see any good from more media attention, certainly not in Holland.

In addition, another alarming event occurred at the end of October 2006 which caused them to be quite upset for Joran's safety in Holland. Joran's apartment was broken into where he lived with some other college students. The break in occurred after they had left for classes and it was only Joran's possessions that were violated. The list of what was taken included files, important documents, DVDs, pictures, his camera cards everything from his computer. This had a tremendous impact on the way the family and Joran were viewing things at the time. And while there was no proof of Peter de Vries involvement in this break in, the fact that at the time he was desperately trying to find out information about Joran would cause them to be suspicious, not necessarily of Peter himself but of someone that might have been trying to gain information for Peter's upcoming TV program.

Natalee Holloway, Peter R. de Vries - 21

In many respects Peter de Vries began, what I would say Part 2 of this case back in November of 2006. His goal of trying to bring down Joran continues today. by    Jan Brennan
