Mickey John speaks after release

With the release of the two security guards will come the shocking statement from Mickey John, that one of the three young men being detained, Deepak Kalpoe, lied to the police in his statement. Mickey John just happened to be detained in a cell next to Deepak Kalpoe and the two spent time talking. John would say that Kalpoe told him that he and his brother Satish Kalpoe, and their friend Joran, never went back to the Holiday Inn the morning of May 30, 2005. Kalpoe told John, that they instead dropped the Dutch boy and Natalee off near the Marriott Hotel, located north of the Holiday Inn on the same beach area.

Because of this information, nearly three dozen police would launch an intense search on Tuesday near the Marriott Hotel. They would cordon off a three block area and do a search for the girl. Government spokesperson Ruben Trapenberg, would confirm that they were only following all leads as new information was emerging in the case.

The search around the Marriott beach area on Tuesday, June 14th would produce what was hoped to be some interesting discoveries. A boy would find a pair of women's underpants, used condoms and condom wrappers and pieces of duct tape. Authorities reminded everyone however that this was a popular hangout among teens and that these items were often discovered there. Quickly these items all proved to be of no value to the case.
