Fox Crime Scene Greta Special On Natalee Holloway

After viewing this special by Fox I wrote up the following summary of the show. Again it was posted on Scrux.com under Medleyrelay.

Natalee's smiling face has filled the TV screens for the last year. But as everyone knows Natalee Holloway, who was nicknamed Hootie by her classmates never made it home from her class trip from Aruba. Beth says that she knew within 3 seconds that Natalee had been kidnapped. But was she? Three local boys admit to being the last ones to be seen with her that night. As Natalee Holloway mysteriously disappears a mother frantically searches for answers.

During the last 12 months the Holloway case has raised far more questions than answers. Is it a mysterious disappearance, a tragic accident or a cold blooded murder? We begin with an unlikely crime scene a tropical oasis in the heart of the Caribbean. Aruba is 20 miles long by 6 miles wide, approximately the size of Washington D. C. It is located 15 miles off the coast of Venezuela and has a population of 100 thousand people. But the tourist industry is the driving force for the islands economy as 1.5 million people come each year.

Beth said Natalee first indicated that she wanted to go to Aruba for her senior trip in February of 2005. George her step brother had gone in 2003 and Natalee was determined to go to. Robin Holloway her step mother describes Natalee as a beautiful, sweet, smart, outstanding and amazing girl. Beth says that Natalee was unbelievably independent. She had a high level of excitement about going to Aruba. Beth said they began buying the bathing suits in February.

Bob Plummer, one of the seven chaperones that made the trip said there were 124 students that went. He said the chaperones met with them every day to make sure there were no problems. They always travelled as a crowd and were never alone. Tito Lacle who has been on the island for 10 years, admits he has heard of problems for young girls but nothing that he would consider serious.

A couple days before Natalee left on the trip Beth sat her down for a mother daughter talk about what to do when you are out at a club. Beth said Natalee had no experience frequenting night clubs. The morning of May 26 Beth said she took Natalee to a friends house at 4 A.M. and dropped her off. She said Natalee was very happy and she gave her a kiss and told her to have a fabulous time. The conversation she does not remember, she said it was nothing out of the ordinary. There is one detail that she does recall. It is something that her step son George Twitty told them. He said when he was in Aruba and in Carlos & Charlies there were several of his class mates there and they were all dancing. During this time there were local guys that were hitting on them and he felt that if he had not been there he does not know what would have happened to these girls.
