Joe deals with speculation

Rita Cosby Live & Direct Joe offers clarity after Rita had Dave Holloway on offering more confusion.

On March 27, 2006 Joe was at his best dealing with many of the recent speculations, and some from the past. First he dealt with Dompig's 48 Hour piece, by strongly saying it was all more speculation. He can see no reason for Dompig to talk about drug use by Natalee. he said they now have reviewed pages and pages of information regarding this case. He says there are many leads that he feels have never ever been looked into. Of course Rita asked him questions about Joran and drugs - to which Joe emphatically said absolutely not! He said Joran had tons of girls always around him did not need any drugs to get them! He also pointed out that while Natalee was an honor student with a scholarship that Joran was also - with just as many credentials as Natalee - and also had a history of community service.

He said that Dave Holloway speculating about Joran or the bar tender putting a date rate drug is just what is wrong with this case. It is all about speculation and not about truth! He understands Dave's pain but thinks it is wrong for him to go on these programs and make statements like that. He said he thinks anyone to do all this speculation about Joran is absolutely unfair and it has ruined his life.

He also took issue with Rita when she brought up how Dompig insinuated that Paul coached Joran. He said that was not true - that all he did was ask Joran that first night what happened - in front of the Alabama group and that he had no chance to prepare Joran because Paul did not know anything. And that any good parent would be supportive and that was what Paul had been.

Joe gains access to the statements

On April 2, 2006 Joe Tacopina would appear on Fox's weekend show "The Lineup," hosted by Kimberly Guilfoyle. He would begin by telling Kimberly that he does not believe, based on what he is hearing that Joran is really the prime suspect anymore. Joe also announces that a significant battle was just won by the prosecution having to turn over all of the police documents in this case. Joe was literally blown away by some of the witness statements and some of the leads. He only hopes that law enforcement has followed up on them. He says there is powerful information that points away from Joran. Joe has his own investigative team following up on them, that is for sure.

Joe also made it clear that he was paying attention to who was saying what about his client. He says he has been called everything from a murderer to a predator, and Joe is paying attention, as in his mind there is no evidence pointing to Joran.

When asked if there is any information pointing to the Kalpoes he absolutely is unconcerned with the Kalpoes or anyone else in this matter. He represents Joran, an 18 year old kid, an honor student that has been totally trashed by the media.

On April 4, 2006 Joe and Julia offer insight into the Holloway case. Joe says that the New York case he feels will be dismissed. Julia says the judge in Aruba is trying to make a decision on what to do about this case. The prosecution wants an extension, and base on some new clues and also this "reenactment show," there may in fact not be a ruling by the judge any time soon.
