Disturbing, But Should Be Mentioned

Theories are fine until you start to do some detailed thinking about what's behind them. I never thought that Joran van der Sloot or the Kalpoe brothers killed Natalee Holloway, but in the beginning I used to think that she probably died in their presence, they panicked (possibly because they had all been doing drugs together and were afraid the police would find out), and disposed of her body. Once I started thinking about the logistics and the time frame involved, though, I became convinced that that was highly unlikely to have occurred.
Practically ever since Natalee went missing, some people have espoused the idea that she was buried, dug up, and reburied multiple times.
Has anybody ever thought what this would have entailed?
Rigor mortis begins to set in about 3-4 hours after death. By 12 hours postmortem, it is complete, and it lasts from 48-72 hours.
It's pretty clear from the triangulation of his cell phone calls that Joran van der Sloot didn't have time to dig a grave for Natalee if she died in his presence in the early morning hours of May 30. Since he went to school that day and his father went to work, by the time one or both of them could have gotten back to wherever he hid Natalee's body, it would have been in full rigor mortis.
Dealing with a body in that state, even one that only weighed 110 pounds, would be very, very difficult. For one thing, if you tried to stuff it into a trunk or put it into a boat, arms and legs would be sticking out everywhere. You certainly couldn't get it into any of the "fish traps" I saw in Aruba without dismembering it, and the site where that was done would have looked like an abattoir, with traces of blood that would have been detectable for a long, long time (decades, if it was done indoors somewhere).
This is even more unpleasant to contemplate, but the temperature in Aruba in May is usually 80-90 degrees F.
In that kind of heat, a body will begin to become putrescent in about 12 hours and will grow worse by the hour. It would smell like hauling around a big hunk of rotting meat. Fluids would begin to escape from the body. If you ever decide to murder someone, entice them to Alaska first. Don't do it in the tropics.
