More significant?

However the most significant statement comes from someone that would seem to be a very objective source, that of the FBI spokesperson, Judy Orihuela. She seems to be saying exactly the opposite of what Beth says in September. "Aruban authorities have provided the FBI with interviews, statements and documents in the case. The information includes transcripts of the interrogation of Joran van der Sloot, the 17 year old son of an Aruban judge and the only suspect who remains jailed in the case." These are the words of Judy in the article from CNN, in July of 2005.

I hope in the following chapter to try and make some sense out of these conflicting statements. Of course you, the reader can then decide, how active the FBI has been in the Natalee Holloway investigation.

The early days of June 2005

Commissioner Van der Straaten on the FBI

On June 2, 2005 Police Commissioner Jan van der Straaten will tell Nancy Grace in this CNN interview that he was already working with the FBI on this case. Here is part of that early June transcript. Notice how he even says he picked the man up at the airport.
