Was the FBI, involved or not?

Where does the FBI stand on this case? There are many reports from a variety of sources that would suggest that the FBI was involved almost from the very first days of this investigation. You will hear the Aruban Chief of Police speak of airport pickups of FBI agents within the first couple days. There are the words of Alabama Senator Shelby who claims he immediately contacted the State Department about this case and thus involved the FBI right away.

The family of Natalee Holloway will say that they were speaking with the FBI often through the summer of 2005. You will hear them say how helpful the FBI was in those days of the summer regarding this investigation.

We would hear that evidence was sent to the FBI for analysis. We will hear that they were at the very least in an advisory capacity all during the summer of 2005, even sitting in on many of the interrogations. We will hear that they were interviewing some of the Mt Brook students that went on the trip with Natalee. We will hear that they were part of the determination of whether the Skeeters' tapes were authentic or manipulated.

But then at some point, we will hear totally conflicting statements by Natalee's family. We will hear Beth Twitty say the FBI never did anything helpful with this case. We will hear that the FBI was shut out from day one. Her now ex husband Jug Twitty will support her with these statements. Why the change in their attitude?

We will also hear very recently that the FBI caused conflicts in the investigation. These allegations will come from the former Chief of Police Gerold Dompig. These allegations are rather serious and it is difficult to comprehend that they could be true.

The involvement or not of the FBI in this case is a mystery. There are many mysteries in this case and you the reader will hopefully have a better idea of the FBI involvement after you read the various entries in this chapter, including the FBI 302's taken from the Mt. Brook teens.

Four years later the mystery of what happened to Natalie is still that, a mystery, just as it was the day the Missing Posters were put all over the island with the help of Aruba Today, Julia Renfro. Rewards were offered and yet no body has been found and there is No Evidence of a Crime. Joran van der Sloot remains the prime suspect although Renee Gielen with her documentary has tried to refocus the investigation, and looks suspiciously at the medjet that the Twitty's brought onto the island. The boycott launched by Dr. Phil has been mostly ignored and Aruba today is actually ranked as one of the safest travel destinations.
